Since 2007, I’ve been going to music festivals for about a week during the summer with my boyfriend. Our first one was AllGood music festival in Mason Town West Virginia. The first year that we went, I learned a lot, quickly. I learned how to set up a tent, how to find our tent among thousands of others, how to deal with the bathroom (no flushing toilets) waking up early (around 6) because of the heat in the tent, how to sit in the sun from sunrise until sunset, among many other things. There are certain things that one has to consider when camping, for one, when the sun goes down, the temperature drops tremendously! You go from walking around in a swimsuit all day, to wearing a hoodie and sweatpants at night. The volunteer fire department of mason town provided cold showers for about $5 a day…when you’re camping for 4 days, that’s $20 a person. A solar shower works just as well as does the rain storm. Although there’s a lot of preparation that goes into being a festival goer, The things I enjoy the most are good people, good music, and good vibes.
